The answer depends on which version of Online Banking you’re using. If you are using the new “side-by-side” mode in QuickBooks 2009 or 2010, you simply click the “Select Items to Delete” button, and then choose the transactions you want to get rid of, either individually or based on date downloaded.

If you are using either QuickBooks 2008 and earlier or the “Register Mode” in newer versions, it’s a bit more cumbersome. You’ll need to add those transactions to the register, and then delete them (either using the drop-down menu: Edit > Delete or Ctrl+D)

When using the online banking, do you know how to delete unmatched transactions that were cleared in a previous reconciliation? There was an overlap in the download dates and now these transactions will never “match” because they were previously matched.
