Hi Gabrielle,

I found your site while looking for a way to record insufficient funds in Quickbooks. In my case, I'm the one bouncing checks left and right from my business account, but I noticed this QB QuickTip wasn't posted yet.

I think your QuickTip videos are great, as they are easy to understand and follow step by step. I really desperately need to learn how to do this right away, could you provide me with some guidance as to how this is done? It would be great if your QuickTip video could be posted right about now though...

Thanks so much for your time and the great work!

Hi Cherri,

Thanks for your comments, much appreciated!

There is a tutorial on handling pre-payments (aka Retainers) that you will find helpful:

http://qbquicktips.com/blog/special-transactions/prepayment-and-retainers-in-quickbooks/

Or just use the search box at the top of the page and enter prepayment or retainer.

Hope that helps!

Hi Gabrielle,

I am enjoying all your quick tips. It makes me feel confident that I am handling things correctly. In this video, you mentioned at the end that you would do a quick tip on customer deposits and pre-payments. I would be interested in knowing how you recommend handling these types of transactions.

I am enjoying your videos so much, I am definitely going to recommend them to others.
